Home Battery Connect™ Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Home Battery Connect™ website, platform, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), operated by Home Battery Connect™ (“Home Battery Connect,” “HBC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Services.
2. Platform Role & Scope of Services
Home Battery Connect provides an educational and matching platform only.
HBC:
- Provides informational content regarding residential battery storage
- Generates system recommendations based on homeowner-provided inputs
- Facilitates introductions and project coordination with licensed third-party EPC installers
HBC does not:
- Sell battery systems
- Perform or supervise installation
- Provide construction, electrical, or permitting services
- Originate, underwrite, approve, or fund financing
- Act as the merchant of record for installation services
All installation, permitting, inspection, warranties, financing, and ongoing service are provided by independent third-party EPC installers and their financing partners under separate agreements.
3. No Professional Advice
Information provided through the Services is for general educational and informational purposes only.
Nothing on the platform constitutes, or should be relied upon as:
- Engineering advice
- Electrical or construction advice
- Financial, tax, or legal advice
- A guarantee of performance, savings, eligibility, or outcomes
You should consult qualified professionals regarding your specific circumstances before making decisions.
4. Eligibility & User Responsibilities
By using the Services, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have authority to provide information about the property
- All information you submit is accurate, current, and complete
You agree to:
- Use the Services for lawful purposes only
- Not misuse, interfere with, or disrupt the platform
- Not attempt to access systems or data not intended for you
- Not use the Services for fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive purposes
5. Prequalification & Estimates
Any estimates, system recommendations, payment illustrations, or prequalification indicators provided through the Services are:
- Non-binding
- Informational only
- Subject to site inspection, system design, and third-party approval
Final pricing, system specifications, installation scope, timelines, and financing terms (if applicable) are determined solely by the assigned EPC installer and their financing partners.
6. Third-Party Services & Relationships
The Services may facilitate interaction with third-party EPC installers, financing providers, utilities, and service providers.
Home Battery Connect:
- Does not control or supervise third parties
- Is not responsible for their acts, omissions, performance, or services
- Makes no warranties regarding third-party products or services
Any agreements you enter into with third parties are solely between you and those parties.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, text, graphics, software, and materials available through the Services are owned by or licensed to Home Battery Connect and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use of the Services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The services are provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Battery Connect disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Battery Connect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data, or use, arising out of or relating to your use of the services or any third-party services.
In no event shall Home Battery Connect’s total liability exceed the amount paid by you, if any, directly to Home Battery Connect for use of the services.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Home Battery Connect and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising out of:
- Your use of the Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your interactions or agreements with third-party providers
11. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, unless otherwise required by law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
